PSP 3000 Analog Stick / Joystick Replacement Tutorial
This tutorial will show you how to replace the worn out analog stick in your PSP 3000.

Symptoms of a broken PSP 3000 analog stick:
- Stick drifts in one direction
- Stick moves slowly or doesn't move at all
Stuff you will need:
- A few small screwdrivers (phillips #00, flat head)
- Ziplock bags for screws and small parts

To do this job you have to remove the LCD screen. This is covered in our PSP 3000 LCD Screen Replacement Tutorial. |

After the screen is removed you'll see this screw that holds the dpad support. Remove it. |

Lift up the dpad support, but leave the L button cable in place. |
 |
Remove the screw circled in red. Circled in green is the analog stick cable connector. It has a clasp on it that has to be carefully lifted up to release the cable. This clasp is very easy to break off! |

This is the joystick removed from the PSP 3000. Installation is the reverse of removal. |
